Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
There are times in our lives when the thought of getting even with someone brings great pleasure. When we are hurting because of the actions of another we may spend hours plotting revenge. We smile at the possibility of seeing their demise knowing that we helped karma along.
The Apostle Paul shows us the better way, the spiritual way, the godly way, 'Vengeance is mine, leave your revenge and anger with me, I will repay.'
Repay does not mean that God will allow our enemies to hurt like they hurt us. Repay means that in the end God will bring them to a place of surrender, either surrendered to his love and mercy or surrendered to his wrath.
