PAUSE FOR A MOMENT - August 19

Luke 6:27
But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

When the lawyer asked Jesus, 'Who is my neighbor?' Jesus told the story of the good Samaritan. Our neighbor is anyone who needs us.

In that story the perceived enemy was also shown. The injured victim was a Jew and the helper was a Samaritan, the enemy of the Jew. The irony is that the neighbor and the enemy turned out to be the same person.

May we love our enemies and do good to them so that in the end we will have gained a neighbor.
