I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
The Apostle Paul knew that the time to depart this world was fast approaching and he was saying goodbye to his spiritual son, Timothy.
In looking back over his life starting with his trip to Damascus as a persecutor and leaving as a believer in Jesus, Paul began his journey as one of the most vocal defender of Jesus as the Son of God.
He was now in prison awaiting his execution and he knew that he lived the life that God called him to live. He was ready to be in the presence of the Lord.
May we also live our lives in such a way that no matter when our time of departure from this world comes we would also be able to echo Paul's words.
