Leaning back against Jesus, he asked him, “Lord, who is it?” Jesus answered, “It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish.” Then, dipping the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.
When we ask a question we should expect an answer. Sometimes the answer may not be what we want to hear and we may wish we had never asked the question when we hear the answer. Or we may be like the disciples and completely ignore the answer that is right there.
They asked who it was and Jesus answered them as clearly as he could. There was no mistaking whom he meant. 'Then dipping the bread he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.'
