When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them.
Jesus finished the task he started. His action was deliberate and he did not put his outer clothes back on and returned to his place at the head of the table until he had washed all the disciples feet.
Jesus came to this earth for the redemption of mankind. He had a work to do and he finished that work on the cross. The last words of Jesus were, 'It is finished' then he gave up his spirit.
May we follow the example of Jesus when we are given a task to do. May we not get discouraged and give up until the task is done.
