PAUSE FOR A MOMENT - July 13

John 13:5-6
After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.  He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”

Sometimes we just have to close our eyes and let our minds bring certain scenes to life. The act of Jesus washing his disciples feet is one of those scenes.

Jesus knew that no matter how hard the next few days would be, he would be returning to his Father, to his unveiled glory and to his throne. Washing his disciples feet was easy to do especially when nothing could ever change his status and position.

Whatever was going through Peter's mind for him to refuse Jesus kind gesture presented a teaching moment. Again, Jesus was able to use the negative and turn it into something really beautiful.
