Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.
Confidence is defined as 'firm trust' and it can be a synonym for 'faith' as faith defined in Hebrews 11:1 'Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance of what we do not see'.
The psalmist so trust God that he is not afraid of a besieging army or even a full-scale war because he knew his GOD.
This kind of confidence, faith and trust must be developed. It doesn't just happen. It is like a growing tree. The roots must dig deep in order to sustain the tree through the droughts and the storms.
Confidence, faith and trust in GOD must be core values of the believer, growing in our hearts from the first day we believed.
May God grant us the confidence, faith and trust that He wants us to have in HIM.
