Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.
Living in uncertain times is nothing new for the children of God. From sin entered into the world and men made the choice to turn away from God uncertain times took its natural place.
When we turn away from God and decide that we know what is best we discover that the peaceful order of things fall into chaos.
The psalmist was feeling the pressure of his enemies as they closed in on him. He was also feeling the pressure of betrayal by someone he trusted. He was tempted to give up and let fear and doubt bring him to despair but his trust and faith in God remained strong.
These words were not only spoken to the people around him but also to himself. He encouraged himself in the Lord. May we take heed to these words as we encounter our uncertain times.
