PAUSE FOR A MOMENT - January 26

Ephesians 4:32
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

What is the price of forgiveness? It cost Jesus everything he had to be able to forgive us of our sins. Forgiveness is a gift from God, totally free on our part because the price was paid at Calvary.

The exhortation is to be kind. It takes kindness to he able to forgive. When we have been wronged by someone the last thing we feel is kindness but in order to forgive we must first be kind.

We are asked to be compassionate. We have to feel a compassionate stirring in our souls for the person who have wronged us before we are able to completely forgive.

We forgive each other the way God forgave us. Totally, completely, unconditionally and accepting the other person back into our lives in Christ. If we cannot forgive the relationship is broken.

When we truly forgive we are allowing the other person the choice to wrong us again.
