2 Chronicles 20:12
Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do but our eyes are on you."
There is a raw, emotional honesty in these words. 'We do not know what to do but our eyes are on you'. As we face life situations we come across many instances that will make us repeat these words again and again.
As we face losses due to death, divorce, unemployment and poor health, we may look around many times and cannot find the answer. It is only when we look up and turn our focus on God that we are empowered to take the next step.
When we are raised with a somewhat legalistic view of God, we may hesitate to bring our problems to him because we feel that it is somehow our fault that we are suffering. Choices we made may have caused the problems but our God is merciful, loving and forgiving. We do not have to suffer needlessly when the answer is in our grasp the whole time.
Let us keep these words in the forefront of our thoughts. WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO BUT OUR EYES ARE ON YOU!
