PAUSE FOR A MOMENT - January 17

Isaiah 42:3
A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice.

This prophecy was foretold about the coming Messiah, the anointed one, God with us, Immanuel, Jesus. He did not come to this world to condemn or judge. He came to bring forgiveness of sins, acceptance of sinners and salvation to all who asks.

He met many bruised people in his three years of ministry - lepers, prostitutes, tax collectors, adulterers, sick, paralyzed and even demon possessed and he never turned them away. He fulfilled this prophecy over and over again.

Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever and he is still taking care of bruised people today. He is careful not to break us when we come to him bruised.

Let us be like Jesus as we deal with the people God brings into our lives. Let us not be quick to condemn and judge but accepting and welcoming all in Jesus name.
