But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
It brings great delight to the child of God to read these words. What joy to know that we are chosen. We did not happen by coincidence or happenstance. God chose us!
The apostle Peter went on to call us a royal priesthood. We have royalty running through our veins. Don't let anybody look down on you. You are royalty!
We are also called a holy nation. As children of God, we are called holy and we are being transformed continually as we wait for the change that will bring us into the presence of God, clothed in righteousness.
God chose us to be his special possession so that we can praise him for calling us out of darkness into his wonderful light.
To God be the glory, the honor and the praise!
