But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.
The promises in God's word are for our benefits. He is faithful and he knows that as we go through times of uncertainties we will react with fear. We need his strength so that we can get through the hard times.
God's protection of us goes all the way to the very source. God protects us from the evil one. In the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples ended with, 'deliver us from the evil one'; the Apostle Peter wrote that the devil is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.
Let us always remember that we never have to face evil or the source of evil alone. The Lord is
faithful .
