But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9
Citizens of the New Kingdom know that we are God's special possession. It is a privilege and an honor to be held in such affection by our God. It is awesome to meditate on these words written by the beloved apostle, Peter, whom many of us can identify with as he displayed his human frailties constantly.
Citizens of the New Kingdom know that privileges also bring responsibilities. We are a chosen people, a royal priesthood and a holy nation for the express purpose of serving our King. We are encouraged to declare his praise; we should be boasting about him; we are witnesses of all the wonderful blessings he has bestowed on our lives and we are the only people who can declare the truth about King Jesus because we know him personally.
Let us take our status of being God's special possession seriously!
