Citizens of the New Kingdom know that the commands of the king are not arbitrary. They have a purpose.

King Jesus always knows what is best for his citizens and his kingdom.

When we do not understand immediately why our King gives certain commands, we know that we can trust him for the very best outcome.
Our daily prayer should be, 'thy Kingdom come thy will be done.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 27

I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. John 14:18

When King Jesus left he promised that he would not leave his citizens as orphans. He said he would still be present with them. His Presence in his citizens is the Holy Spirit.

Citizens of the New Kingdom have the Holy Spirit living in them.

Citizens of the New Kingdom have King Jesus present with them.

Citizens of the New Kingdom will never be orphans.

What a privilege is to be a citizen of the New Kingdom.!

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 26

The wise ones (virgins) took oil in jars along with their lamps. Matthew 25:4

Citizens of the New Kingdom have extra oil with them as they wait for their King to return.

Citizens of the New Kingdom are prepared for their King's return at any time.

Citizens of the New Kingdom know that they must get their supply of grace from their King. They cannot rely on any one else.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 25

We are Christ's ambassadors as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20

Citizens of the New Kingdom have an overarching purpose - Ambassadors of the King. This is the primary purpose of all Citizens of the New Kingdom.

Citizens of the New Kingdom have been given the ministry of reconciliation - the reconciliation between God and man. Our King came to die in sinful human's place so that God would not count our sins against us.

Let us be committed and loyal ambassadors.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 24

But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Do not consider his appearance or his height for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at outward appearance,  but the Lord looks at the heart'. 1 Samuel 16:7

Citizens of the New Kingdom know that God looks at their heart. They know that King Jesus is more concerned about the motivation of the heart than their outward appearance.

King Jesus knows that if the heart is changed,  a change of behavior will follow.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 23

And he has given us this command: anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.  1 John 4:21

Citizens of the New Kingdom live in love;

Citizens of the New Kingdom love God with all their hearts, souls, minds and strength.

Citizens of the New Kingdom love their brothers and sisters; 

Citizens of the New Kingdom seek to share this love with Citizens of the world. 

Citizens of the New Kingdom follow the example of King Jesus as they live in love.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 22

Finally brothers and sisters,  whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right,  whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is desirable - if there is anything excellent or praiseworthy,  think about such things.

Citizens of the New Kingdom are called to a higher standard than citizens of this world.

Citizens of the New Kingdom reflect on the righteousness of their King.

Citizens of the New Kingdom live their lives in this world following the example of King Jesus.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 21

...But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean. I now realize that God does not show favoritism.  Acts 10:28, 34

Citizens of the New Kingdom come from all nations, tongues and people.

Citizens of the New Kingdom accept all fellow citizens as brothers and sisters regardless of the color of their skins, shape of their bodies, texture of their hair or country of origin and ethnicity.

In the eyes of the King all citizens of the New Kingdom are favorites of his and they are pure and clean.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 20

Rejoice in the Lord always.  I will say it again: Rejoice! Philippians 4:4

Citizens of the New Kingdom know that their King is the source of all joy.

Citizens of the New Kingdom rejoice in their King always.

In the midst of stress, fear, worry and anxiety, Citizens of the New Kingdom can still rejoice because they are rejoicing in their King not in their circumstances.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 19

When Peter saw him, he asked,  'Lord, what about him?' Jesus answered,  'If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.' John 21:21-22

Citizens of the New Kingdom cannot be concerned with God's purpose for someone else. We need to be so busy with our relationship with the King that we will not have the time to meddle and interfere with our brother's or sister's walk with the Lord.

Citizens of the New Kingdom hear the voice of their King. The voice says to each citizen every day - 'You must follow me. '

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 18

Jesus rebuked Peter, ' Get thee behind me Satan, you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns. ' Mark 8 : 33

Citizens of the New Kingdom must be careful not to get caught up in the concerns of the world as we journey in this foreign land.

Our King wants us to have our minds focused on the concerns of God.

When we realize that we are neglecting the things of God we should follow the example of our King and say, ' Get thee behind me Satan '!

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 17

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Psalm 37:7

Citizens of the New Kingdom learn that as foreigners in this land they will be targets of wicked schemes. People will succeed in their ways and hurt God's children.

In these times we must be still before God and we must wait patiently for our King.

Let us not fret when evil seems to be winning.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 16

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Revelation 21:4

Citizens of the New Kingdom long for the day when the old order of things have passed away. Living far away from home in this foreign country means that we have to deal with the order of things here. We have to deal with death, mourning, crying and pain.

Let us keep our hearts focused on the new order of things. The time is coming when King Jesus himself will wipe away every tear from our eyes.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 15

Let us not become weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6 : 9

Citizens of the New Kingdom will get tired and weary as they serve their King in this foreign land. There will be times when they will want to give up. Our King reminds us that if we continue to do our work,  no matter how hard it gets, there will come a day when we will be able to rest.

We do not rest in the midst of the battle.  We rest when the victory is ours.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 14

The Lord appeared to us in the past saying,'I have loved you with an everlasting love. I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. Jeremiah 31:3

Citizens of the New Kingdom know that they are truly loved.

Citizens of the New Kingdom can rest in the King's everlasting love.

Citizens of the New Kingdom are constantly being drawn to their King with unfailing kindness.

King Jesus always keeps us in his heart with everlasting love and continually reaches out to us in never-ending kindness.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 13

'Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?' 'Who are you, Lord? ' Saul asked,  ' I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.  Now get up and go into the city and you will be told what you must do!' Acts 9:4-6

Citizens of the New Kingdom know that they are so completely one in Christ Jesus, their king, that when they are hurt and persecuted by citizens of this world,  King Jesus himself is being persecuted and hurt.

King Jesus steps into each situation we are in and personally accepts all our hurts, sorrows, griefs, burdens and even our physical deaths. What a mighty King we serve. Amen

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 12

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness for their's is the kingdom of heaven.  Matthew 5:10

Citizens of the New Kingdom can expect persecutions for doing good.

Citizens of this world have been separated from God and are spiritually dead. They will never understand why citizens of the New Kingdom seek to please a King who is not physically here.

Citizens of this world will tease, bully, make fun of, persecute and even kill citizens of the New Kingdom.

The promise from our King is that even when we are being persecuted we are still blessed because we have a future in the eternal kingdom.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 11

Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God.  Matthew 5 : 9

Citizens of the New Kingdom have been given a ministry of peace. King Jesus was born to show God's peace towards men.

Citizens of the New Kingdom have a peace which surpasses human understanding and they live their lives in that peace.

The world clamors in turmoil and chaos but Citizens of the New Kingdom live in peace amidst the chaos.

Citizens of the New Kingdom are children of God.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 10

Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.  Matthew 5:8

Citizens of the New Kingdom have hearts which seek after God. Hypocrisy has no place in their hearts. What they are inside matches what they are outside.

Citizens of the New Kingdom show integrity in their actions. They strive to do right even when they are away from prying eyes.

Citizens of the New Kingdom desire to live their lives so that they do not feel ashamed before God.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 9

Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy. Matthew 5:7

Citizens of the New Kingdom are marked by their desire to show hospitality,  kindness,  love and mercy to others, even those who have wronged them.

Citizens of the New Kingdom know that their God will take care of any vengeance that is due.

Citizens of the New Kingdom seek to serve at all times, knowing that they are serving others as they would serve Christ.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 8

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness for they will be filled.  Matthew 5 : 6

Citizens of the New Kingdom have a thirst for doing the right thing;

Citizens of the New Kingdom have a hunger for living a righteous life;

Citizens of the New Kingdom hunger and thirst to be filled with the Holy Spirit who alone can give them the righteousness of Christ;

Citizens of the New Kingdom seek daily to examine themselves,  confess their sins and are cleansed by Christ's blood.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 7

Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth.  Matthew 5:5

Citizens of the New Kingdom know that eventually sin will be eradicated and there will be a new heaven and a new earth;

Citizens of the New Kingdom will inherit the new earth;

The residents of this new earth will display gentleness and meekness;

Citizens of the New Kingdom encourage people around them by their quiet, meek, and gentle nature.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 6

Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted.  Matthew 5:4

Citizens of the New Kingdom will suffer loss in this world;

Citizens of the New Kingdom will be heartbroken at times;

Citizens of the New Kingdom will be sorrowful sometimes;

Citizens of the New Kingdom have a King who knows how to comfort them when their hearts are sorrowful and broken. Our King experienced everything we go through in this foreign land.

Citizens of the New Kingdom will be blessed when they turn to their King for comfort.

These verses show clearly what Jesus taught about purpose and fulfilling the work that God calls us to do.

When we decided to become followers of Jesus we signed up for service to the King of kings.  He promised to be with us always,  he promised to take care of all our earthly physical needs and he also promised to send us the Holy Spirit to guide us in all things.

We have no need of anything when we choose to follow Jesus. All he asks is that we stay true to His revealed purpose for our lives. There should be no excuses when we know our purpose in God's Kingdom. The temporary things of this life should have no effect on our service to the King.

So what if we don't have the comforts of our own homes, what does it matter if we have to move away from our familiar environment and what profit will it be if we walk away from our designed purpose so we can receive an earthly inheritance.

Jesus concluded by saying, 'No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the Kingdom of God'.

Let us continue to pursue His divine purpose for our lives.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 5

Blessed are the poor in Spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  Matthew 5: 3

Citizens of the New Kingdom are spiritually needy. They realize that they need more and more of their King every day.

Citizens of the New Kingdom are blessed when they come to the end of their ropes, to the end of themselves because in their weaknesses their King rules more effectively.

Citizens of the New Kingdom are blessed people.

Citizens of the New Kingdom are very privileged people.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - February 4

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,  and I will give you rest.  Matthew 11:28

Citizens of the New Kingdom will experience stress, fatigue and exhaustion. There are times when they will want to give up and like the Prophet Elijah cries, 'it is better for me to die'.

This is the time when the words from our King should echo in our hearts, 'come to me, I have rest for you; come to me, I will share your burdens; come to me, I will refresh your soul'.

Citizens of the New Kingdom have a King who cares.
