Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 31

He has made us members of his royal family. He has made us priests who serve his God and Father. Give him glory and power forever and ever, Amen.  Revelation 1:6

Throughout the scriptures the same theme exists:

Citizens of the New Kingdom are members of the royal family.

Citizens of the New Kingdom has direct access to God.

Citizens of the New Kingdom belong to Jesus, the King above all kings.

Give him glory and power forever and ever. Amen

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 30

A soldier does not take part in things that don’t have anything to do with the army. He wants to please his commanding officer.                 2 Timothy 2:4

Citizens of the New Kingdom are focused on one thing and one thing only—How do I please my King?

Citizens of the New Kingdom do not let the things of this world distract them from their real purpose—Serving the King.

Citizens of the New Kingdom gladly serve and seek to please  the King because he loved them more than his own life.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 29

For you have been born again not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living, enduring word of God.             1 Peter 1:23

Citizens of the New Kingdom are born from a seed that cannot die.

Citizens of the New Kingdom have eternal life inside them. They will live forever.

Citizens of the New Kingdom are born through the eternal, Living Word of God. The Living Word of God is Jesus who became human and lived among men.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 28

Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.     Romans 6:8

Citizens of the New Kingdom have passed from death to life.

Citizens of the New Kingdom have left the rule of the flesh to live in the Kingdom of God. The realm of the flesh and the kingdom of darkness have no hold on the Citizens of the New Kingdom.

Only Citizens of the New Kingdom can please God.

Let your praises go to God for accepting you in his New Kingdom and live a life that is pleasing to him through Christ Jesus, the King.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 27

Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Citizens of the New Kingdom know that all circumstances of their lives are allowed by their King. They give thanks even in the hard times because they know it is only temporary.

Citizens of the New Kingdom are joyful because this present world with all its problems will pass away and they will live in an earth made new.

Citizens of the New Kingdom pray continually as they keep in constant communication with King Jesus accepting God’s will in their lives.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 26

Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. Ephesians 5:25-27

Citizens of the New Kingdom are members of the church (a called out assembly). King Jesus gave himself up for the church. He cleansed the church and presents it as radiant, stainless, wrinkleless and blemish-less. When King Jesus looks at his church he sees it as holy and blameless.

Citizens of the New Kingdom have a wonderful, beautiful heritage.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 25

I urge then first of all that petitions, prayers, intercessions and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 1 Timothy 2:1-2

Citizens of the New Kingdom should strive to live peaceful and quiet lives in godliness and holiness here on this earth.

One way this is accomplished is by praying for all people especially those in authority hoping that they will grant favor to Citizens of the New Kingdom living far away from  home.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 24

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. Colossians 3:23-24

Citizens of the New Kingdom do their work here on earth as if they are working for King Jesus. So, it does not matter if they get ‘kudos’ or criticism from their earthly employers.

Citizens of the New Kingdom do their work here on earth with a loving attitude because they are working for a just and loving King.

The King is keeping record and will bountifully reward his citizens when he returns.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 23

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. Psalm 100:4

Citizens of the New Kingdom  are thankful people. They realize that they cannot repay the benefits of God. They cannot repay his amazing grace. They cannot repay his bountiful blessings.

Citizens of the New Kingdom humbly acknowledge that everything they have, everything they are come from above. Their hearts burst forth with praise and thanksgiving.

Citizens of the New Kingdom live with an attitude of gratitude.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 22

Therefore as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.  Colossians 3:12

Citizens of the New Kingdom  are called chosen people; They are holy in God’s sight; they are dearly loved. This is their standing in God. Nothing can change this fact. It is in their spiritual DNA.
Since Citizens of the New Kingdom are dearly loved, they will exhibit certain behavior. They will be kind, humble, gentle, patient and compassionate while living here on earth.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 21

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36

Citizens of the New Kingdom  live in freedom. They have been set free from sins, from bondage to their earthly nature, from    allegiance to Satan and this world’s order. They have been set free from the fear of death.

Citizens of the New Kingdom have been set free from the lies they believed about God before they were granted citizenship. They have been set free to live the abundant life in Christ. They have been set free to live in unity with all other believers and with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 20

But love your enemies, do good to them and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful just as your father is merciful.
Luke 6:35-36

Citizens of the New Kingdom follow the example of their King  in showing kindness to the wicked and the ungrateful.

Citizens of the New Kingdom love those who plot to destroy them.

Citizens of the New Kingdom pray for their enemies. They cannot keep hatred in their hearts.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 19

But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him. Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. 1John 2:5-6

Citizens of the New Kingdom  have an example to follow. In every area of this temporary life on earth they have King Jesus to observe and to imitate. King Jesus has given his citizens everything they need to succeed here on this earth.  He inspired his closest followers to write about his life and his instructions. When he returned to heaven he sent the Holy Spirit to live in his citizens teaching them how to follow his example. He changed their hearts to make them want to obey so they can show love for God.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 18

Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is the devil—and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by the fear of death. Hebrews 2:14-15

Citizens of the New Kingdom  are no longer slaves to the fear of death. King Jesus shared in their humanity so he could break the devil’s hold on death. When King Jesus rose from the dead he showed the devil that he was King, sovereign over death and he has given Citizens of the New Kingdom that same power through the Holy Spirit.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 17

To them (The Lord’s People) God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27

Citizens of the New Kingdom  always have within them the hope of glory received when they were born again and the Holy Spirit took up residence in them.  It is through the Holy Spirit that King Jesus dwells in his citizens.

Citizens of the New Kingdom will never live in despair because they always have within them the hope of glory.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 16

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather the Spirit you received brought about your  adoption to Sonship and by him we cry,  ‘Abba Father’.
Romans 8:15

Citizens of the New Kingdom have a personal, intimate relationship with the King. King Jesus knows each citizen intimately; He knows each citizen’s personality, strengths, weaknesses, gifts, abilities, etc.

King Jesus has a job for each citizen in his Kingdom .

Citizens of the New Kingdom can indeed go to the Father and call him ‘Daddy’. Intimacy with the King is theirs.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 15

Give us this day our daily bread.  Matthew 6:11

Citizens of the New Kingdom learn to live one day at a time. They know that King Jesus provides for them daily. Whatever they face each day already passed through the Father’s loving hands. They will have the strength to face whatever the day brings.

Citizens of the New Kingdom sees each daily event from the perspective of eternity and realize that life on earth is very temporary. They have eternity awaiting them.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 14

‘Abba Father’, he said, ‘everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will. Mark 14:36

Citizens of the New Kingdom follow the example of their King as they live in this world. It is always ‘Not what I will, but what YOU will’.

Citizens of the New Kingdom learn to trust Abba Father and rest in the knowledge that in the end, his will is always best.

Citizens of the New Kingdom know that King Jesus sees the big picture, the eternal picture, while they usually focus on what their physical minds can see.

‘Not what I will but what you will’. Surrender!

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 13

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the SON he loves.  Colossians 1:13

Citizens of the New Kingdom are no longer under the authority and rule of the dominion of darkness. This present world is ruled by authorities and principalities of darkness.

Citizens of the New Kingdom swear allegiance to King Jesus;  submit to his authority and do his will.

Citizens of the New Kingdom serve the King of Light not the King of Darkness.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 12

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16

As Citizens of the New Kingdom renounced attachment to this world they can expect to be lonely, sorrowful, persecuted, misunderstood, yelled at, backstabbed, gossiped about, etc.

These are times when Citizens of the New Kingdom will need lots of mercy and grace. The King’s command to his citizens is to approach the throne of grace with confidence where there is   ample mercy for his children in time of their needs.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 11

… Holy Father protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me,… while I was with them I protected them and kept them safe by the name you gave me. John 17:11-12

Citizens of the New Kingdom have a secret weapon that protects them while living in this world.

They are protected by the name that was given to the King-Yeshua: The Lord is Salvation.

Demons retreat when the command is given in the Name of Jesus. One demon said in Acts 19:13-14, ‘Jesus I know; Paul I know about, but who are you?’

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 10

They are not of the world even as I am not of it…  John 17:16

Citizens of the New Kingdom know that they are not of this world.

Citizens of the New Kingdom know that they are destined for another world.

Citizens of the New Kingdom know that one day they will    physically be with their King forever in the New Kingdom.

Citizens of the New Kingdom know that they have ONE mission in this world — Bring glory to their King by doing the ‘will of the Father’.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 9

Now that I your Lord and Teacher have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.  John 13:14

Citizens of the New Kingdom have a servant’s heart. In this    present world, servants are considered inferior to their masters.
In the New Kingdom, serving others is considered ‘worthy behavior’.

This serving attitude is a trait found in Citizens of the New Kingdom.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 8

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 3:20

Citizens of the New Kingdom have a glorious future because this world is not their final destination;

Citizens of the New Kingdom have much more to look forward to because their Savior, King Jesus, is returning and will transform their physical, earthly bodies into a glorious body like his;

This thought should get Citizens of the New Kingdom through each day as they wait for their Lord and King, Jesus Christ.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 7

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.  Peter 1:9

Citizens of the New Kingdom know that privileges bring responsibilities.

Citizens of the New Kingdom are children of God; they belong to God’s family;
 they are God’s special treasure;

Citizens of the New Kingdom have the responsibility to praise King Jesus;

Citizens of the New Kingdom must always bring honor not shame to their King.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 6

For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.  Romans 14:15

Citizens of the New Kingdom know that when they are fully  submitted to King Jesus the physical needs of this world is not top priority.

Citizens of the New Kingdom exhibit the righteousness of Christ, the peace of fellowshipping with him and have hearts full of joy as they walk in the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 5

Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.  John 4:23-24

Citizens of the New Kingdom are true worshipers of God because they have been born of the Holy Spirit.

The Spirit of God guides them into all truth and teaches them about King Jesus who is the Way, the Truth and The Life.

Only Citizens of the New Kingdom can truly worship God in the way he seeks because they worship him through the Holy Spirit who lives in them.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 4

The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.  John 3:8

Citizens of the New Kingdom live their lives in a spiritual mystery. When it comes to being born of the Spirit and living in the Spirit they have to be content with not knowing how it really works. The Holy Spirit as Sovereign God leads and directs as he pleases.

As citizens mature and become productive in the New Kingdom they will develop the attitude of, ‘Not my will, Lord, but thy will be done’.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 3

Jesus said, ‘Verily, truly I tell you, no one can see the Kingdom of God unless they are born again.’  John 3:3

Citizens of the New Kingdom have physical birthdays that are celebrated each year. They were born into this world as a Baby Boy or a Baby Girl. They developed physical traits and abilities that allow them to live and function in this world.

Citizens of the New Kingdom have experienced a second birth, a spiritual birth. The Holy Spirit is developing in them traits and abilities that will allow them to live and function as productive Citizens in the New Kingdom.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 2

Jesus said, ‘My kingdom is not of the world...my kingdom is from another place.’  John 18:36

Citizens of the New Kingdom know that to belong to the Kingdom of God means that they have given up citizenship of this world.

There is no dual citizenship agreement in place between the Kingdom of Darkness and the Kingdom of Jesus.

Becoming a ‘new wineskin’ is one of the identifying characteristics of 'Citizens of Jesus' New Kingdom.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom - January 1

Matthew 9:17
People do not pour new wine into old wineskins, if they do the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskin will be ruined.  No, they pour new wine into new wineskins and both are preserved.

Jesus passionately cares about each Citizen of the New Kingdom.  He wants to make them into new wineskins so that he can pour new wine into them. He cannot pour new wine into old wineskins because the wineskin and the wine will be ruined.

Becoming new wineskin requires transformation from King Jesus and the Holy Spirit. This is a daily renewal process.

Citizens Of The New Kingdom

Welcome to the daily devotional, 'Citizens Of The New Kingdom'. Jesus, the King of kings said that he has a kingdom but his kingdom is not of this world.

Jesus came to this world, took on human nature, seeking citizens for his new kingdom. To become a citizen of this new kingdom he said that a person must be born again. A person becomes a Citizen of the New Kingdom by believing in the gospel of Jesus Christ, accepting forgiveness of sin through Jesus’ death and resurrection, receiving the Holy Spirit and identifying/fellowshipping with the church (called out assembly). This process is called the ‘second birth’ or ‘being born again’.

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.  Colossians 1:13

There are only 2 Kingdoms. The Kingdom of Darkness and the Kingdom of Jesus. Everyone born on this earth is born into the Kingdom of Darkness until he or she chooses to become a Citizen of the New Kingdom, the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

It is my prayer that your heart will be encouraged each day as you meditate on the wonderful privileges that you have as a Citizen Of The New Kingdom.
