Well Done, good and faithful servant!

Marjpearl Creations web site is open for browsing.

This is graduation season and I am blessed to have received invitations to several high school graduation ceremonies this year. I am very proud of the hard work that made it possible for these young people to proudly walk up in their caps and gowns to receive their diplomas.

One of these young graduates is the valedictorian of her class and I know firsthand how much she sacrificed to receive this honor. When other classmates were going to dances and parties she was studying. In the summertime when others were going to the beach and indulging in frivolities she was working as an intern for NASA. She kept her goals in mind for the four years of high school and it was worth it because she is headed to a prestigious college and has been awarded several scholarships. In her case, talent and hard work made her the success she is.

God's word tells us that it is God who gives us wisdom and knowledge and he also gives us the strength to succeed. It all comes from God. One of my favorite parables is found in Matthew 25 - The Parable of the Talents.
Three servants received three different portions according to their abilities. Two servants worked as hard as they could and doubled their master's investment. The third servant had an attitude problem. He did not feel as important as the other servants. He did not feel as blessed as the other servants. He was not motivated to work for the master and so he buried his portion. He spent his time doing exactly as he pleased not remembering that he was a servant and was supposed to be working. On the day of accountability he actually blamed his master for his own laziness but in the end he had to suffer the consequences of not investing the portion that was given to him.

We have all been given talents and the ability to work hard. We have no excuse for failing to complete the tasks that we have been given. Our Master gives us gifts according to our abilities. We are not going to lose rewards for not accomplishing as much as someone else but we are going to be held accountable for doing nothing and wasting our God-given gifts. We did not all receive 5 talents or 2 talents but we have all received at least 1 talent and we are responsible for what we have been given.

May we never hear the words - You wicked, lazy servant! Let us strive to hear the words - Well Done, good and faithful servants.

Congratulations to all the Graduates this graduation season!

If God Is For Us...

Marjpearl Creations web site is open for browsing. http://marjpearlcreations.com

Reflections:

Romans 8:31  What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

In this age of hatred, intolerance and hypocrisy it is refreshing to note that no one can ultimately defeat us if God is ‘for us’.

I enjoyed meditating on the words ‘God for us’ and I thought about the security of these words and what they mean to me as a child of God.

Because God is for me through the ransom paid by Jesus on Calvary, I know that:

·        God loves me eternally. There is never a moment in time when God does not love me. I am no longer an object of his wrath but an object of his love.

·        God has an eternal purpose for me which fit perfectly into his plan for my life. No matter the conflicts, trials or problems-in the end I will be victorious because his purpose will be fulfilled in me.

·        God dwells in me through his Holy Spirit – His Holy Presence is always with me. I am sealed forever by the Holy Spirit because the Lord knows that I am His.

·        I can live a victorious Christian life free from fear and bondage because I am living by faith in Jesus.

·        I am never alone because ‘God is for me’. The Creator of the universe chose to redeem me and made me his child.

What confidence I have when I remember that if God is for me no one can be against me and defeat me. I am victorious because the Almighty God is for me!

Reflections On Motherhood

On February 9, 2012 I became a proud grandmother for the first time. I was amazed at the different levels of emotions that went through the essence of my being.  I remembered  holding my own daughter and feeling that no matter what happened in my life that as long as I had her I would never be alone again because I am connected to someone else.
As a grandmother, when I hold my grandson I forget everything happening around me and my entire being is focused on one thing -MY GRANDBABY

Here are some thoughts that I have on motherhood.

Having a baby changes your life FOREVER.
You will always feel responsible for someone else.
Your life experiences make you the best storyteller.
Your words of advice will echo on in your children's heads.
A wise mother knows when to be quiet and when to speak.

I had the pleasure of my mother and sister visiting this week and the joy of being connected was enforced. I have learned so much from watching my mother and I see so much of who I am in her. I see her kindness and compassion; her politeness and respect; her values and integrity. She never sat me down and say this is how you must live but she lived the way she wanted me to follow.

My sister is a wonderful mother and I am always amazed at her wisdom in raising her own kids and even more amazed when she asks my advice because I see her doing a great job.
These ladies are the role models and mentors for my own daughter and I am thankful to God that the next generation in our family will be taught the way of the Lord.
Happy Mother's Day!

Reflections:

James 1:17  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Marjpearl Creations is a gift that was given to me by our Father in heaven. It is the outward expression of the wonderful inward relationship and communion that we share. He called me into fellowship like he called Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. He walks and talks with me filling my heart with songs and praise, giving me words of inspiration, encouraging me when I need it most.  As I meditate on his Word the blessed Holy Spirit comes beside me and opens up my understanding leading me down the shining path of Truth.

Each day as I spend time with him in the garden of His Word he brings me a beautiful bouquet of love, forgiveness, grace, mercy and truth. He tells me to share the fragrant flowers with others.

The words on each Heart-Song card and poem are the flowers I share with you.
