Genesis 50:19-21
But Joseph said to them, "Don't be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, don't be afraid. I will provide for you and your children." And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them.
Before Joseph was born God already had a purpose for his life. That purpose became evident in the last chapter of Genesis when he told his brothers that no matter what their motivation was for harming him God’s purpose for his life was to save lives.
This principle holds true for God’s children. I believe that before we are born God has an ordained purpose for our lives and sometimes we do not see the purpose until the last chapter of our lives is written. We should not get discouraged and lose hope when it seems that things are not working out. When we do not see any reason for us to be alive and there seems to be no purpose, we need to hold on to the principle that- God always had a purpose for allowing us to be born. His purpose never changes and there is no plan B with him.
Let us not lose sight of this wonderful principle – we are created for a purpose and in time we will know what the purpose of our lives is. Ephesians 4:10 states:
For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
